From Ordinary to Extraordinary
It is part room, part view, and part invitation to do something delightfully unexpected with the backyard.
This clear backyard dome turns approximately 135 square feet of open space into whatever kind of escape you can dream up. Set it in a green field as a garden lounge, furnish it as a game room, create an unusual glamping retreat, or turn it into a private dining room with one heck of a view. Put several together and—where local rules allow—you may have the beginnings of a campground, Airbnb village, or restaurant where every table gets its own little world.
Measuring approximately 13½ feet across and 10 feet high, the dome has an aluminum frame surrounded by 3mm clear polycarbonate panels. The panels provide UV protection and are described by the manufacturer as heat-insulating and impact-resistant. Privacy curtains run along their own tracks, allowing you to invite the outdoors in or politely ask it to wait outside.
A ceiling fan with light, starry-sky ambient lighting, an air-exchange fan, screened window, and mosquito screening help keep the space more comfortable. The structure is also designed to accommodate an air-conditioner bracket. The air conditioner is not included—but once one is installed, this may be the next best thing to ice in July, only considerably prettier and less likely to melt on the rug.
